Lough an Mhuilinn by Charles Vincent Lamb circa 1930’s. Charles Vincent Lamb lived for most of his life in Connemara. He was heavily influenced by the rural life and he painted scenes that would have been part of his daily life. This painting of Lough an Mhuilinn shows nuances of grey in the light of the sky that is typical of skies in the west of Ireland. The reflection in the lake is particularly pleasing with the clothes of the woman washing in the lake a welcome contrast to the rest of the painting.
